Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of class XI Islamic Banking students at SMK Negeri 5 Madiun in the Cash Management subject, characterized by minimal active student participation and the use of one-way conventional learning methods. The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the planning stage, implementation of action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 12 class XI Islamic Banking students. Data were collected through observation and formative tests, and analyzed descriptively using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed an increase in the average learning outcomes from 78.56 in the pre-cycle to 82.08 in Cycle I, and further to 90 in Cycle II, with a learning completion rate of 100% in both cycles. Observational data also indicated increased student participation, as seen in their engagement in group discussions, willingness to express opinions, and equal involvement of all group members in completing tasks. It can be concluded that the STAD learning model is effective in improving both student learning outcomes and active participation, and can serve as a relevant alternative learning strategy for classroom implementation.
