Publication Ethics for ABDIKARYA: Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat

Introduction

ABDKARYA: Journal of Community Service is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in publication. We adhere to the principles outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Regulation No. 5 of 2014 on Scientific Publication Ethics. These principles include:

  • Objectivity: Research should be conducted and presented without bias.
  • Transparency: All relevant information, including funding sources and conflicts of interest, must be disclosed.
  • Fairness: All parties involved in the publication process must be treated fairly.
  • Respect for Intellectual Property: Copyright and intellectual property rights must be respected.
  • Timeliness: The publication process should be conducted efficiently and timely.

In addition to these general principles, ABDIKARYA emphasizes the following specific ethical considerations for community service research:

  • Beneficence: Research should aim to benefit the community and avoid causing harm.
  • Respect for Participants: Participants in community service projects should be treated with respect and dignity.
  • Consent: Informed consent should be obtained from participants before their involvement in research.
  • Privacy: The privacy of participants should be protected.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Original Work: Ensure that the submitted work is original and has not been published elsewhere.
  • Accuracy: Present data and results accurately and completely.
  • Citation: Cite all sources used, including previous publications.
  • Conflict of Interest: Disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the research.
  • Ethical Considerations: Ensure that the research adheres to ethical guidelines, especially in relation to community engagement.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Objectivity: Provide objective and constructive feedback on the manuscript.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and the author's identity.
  • Timeliness: Complete reviews within the specified timeframe.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Fairness: Ensure a fair and transparent review process.
  • Editorial Decisions: Make editorial decisions based on the quality and relevance of the manuscript.
  • Conflict of Interest: Disclose and avoid conflicts of interest.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • Publication Integrity: Ensure the integrity of the publication process.

Sanctions

Violations of the ethical guidelines may result in sanctions, including:

  • Retraction: For serious violations that compromise the credibility of the publication.
  • Publication Ban: For repeated or serious violations.

Reporting Violations

Any suspected violations of the ethical guidelines can be reported to the journal editor. The editor will investigate the report and take appropriate action.
