Abstract

Kecemasan merupakan salah satu gangguan psikologis yang paling sering dialami oleh remaja, khususnya dalam lingkungan pendidikan yang menuntut adaptasi akademik dan sosial. Mekanisme koping menjadi faktor penting yang memengaruhi sejauh mana individu mampu mengelola kecemasan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara mekanisme koping dan tingkat kecemasan pada remaja tingkat pendidikan menengah atas di Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional. Sebanyak 250 responden berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini dan data dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) serta Brief COPE Inventory. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji chi-square dan perhitungan odds ratio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 64,29% responden yang menggunakan mekanisme koping adaptif berada pada tingkat kecemasan minimal hingga ringan, sedangkan 62,50% responden yang menggunakan mekanisme koping maladaptif mengalami kecemasan sedang hingga berat. Uji statistik menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan antara mekanisme koping dan tingkat kecemasan (p < 0,001), dengan nilai odds ratio sebesar 3,00. Artinya, remaja dengan tingkat kecemasan sedang hingga berat memiliki kemungkinan tiga kali lebih besar menggunakan koping maladaptif dibandingkan mereka yang mengalami kecemasan ringan. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya upaya preventif dan promotif dalam penguatan strategi koping adaptif guna mengurangi risiko kecemasan pada remaja di lingkungan pendidikan.
